Ensuring adequate and reliable lighting is in place is an important factor in the safety and security of your working environment, preventing workplace incidents as well as ensuring healthy living and working conditions for residents or employees.

We’ll develop and implement a lighting plan for your premises incorporating external and internal lighting as well as emergency lighting. Where appropriate we recommend low-power LED lighting to keep running and replacement costs low, and reduce the amount of maintenance required.

High Voltage Distribution & Substations

JLM is qualified and experienced in providing HV solutions, from large-scale industrial plant systems to smaller commercial installations. We’ll work with you to develop a detailed project plan taking into account local network constraints and site-specific limitations, and handle installation, testing and regular service inspections.

Our engineers are qualified to work with high-voltage systems up to and including 33 kV. Projects include plant installation, substation design, construction and management, as well as cable lay, overhead lines, power distribution and earthing.

Low Voltage Distribution

We design low-voltage power supply and distribution plans for new developments or refurbishment/upgrades to existing premises and provide an end-to-end service combining project management, component supply, installation, inspection and testing and ongoing maintenance and servicing.

Our low-voltage distribution services include the supply, installation and maintenance of circuit breakers, busses, enclosures, panel boards, protection relays and switchboards, as well as integrated management software to monitor and control power systems centrally.

Earthing Specialists

A well-designed and functionally effective earthing service is a critical factor in ensuring site safety, reliability and consistency of power supply. Our expert electrical engineers use the latest software and testing tools to design a system that meets your usage needs and complies fully with relevant BS standards.

From soil resistivity surveys and earth resistance measurements to the inspection and testing of existing systems, and the design and commissioning of new systems, we offer an end-to-end service to ensure the safety of your premises and your employees.

Small Power

As well as large-scale electrical installations, we also have expertise in more limited-scope projects including domestic and small-scale commercial electrical solutions. Lightning / Surge Protection

According to BS7671, surge protection devices are required for the majority of commercial and industrial applications and are recommended in many residential developments to prevent the risk of fire, equipment damage, or injury in the event of over-voltage caused by grid fluctuations or lightning strikes.

JLM can design and implement surge protection and lightning protection systems to suit the particular needs of your installation, including selection of the appropriate Surge Protection Devices SPDs for each input, panel, or distribution board, as well as testing and scheduled servicing and maintenance.
