SAVE MONEY – SAVE CO2
The cost of light: One question that is regularly asked is: Why are LEDs so expensive ? The answer is: They really are NOT!
Cut your electricity and maintenance bills with LED lighting!
With energy costs rising each year and growing concerns for the environment, more and more people are looking for energy saving initiatives.LED lighting is an area that many people overlook or don’t consider, but it’s actually a very cost effective way to both improve your lighting whilst simultaneously reducing the amount of energy consumed.LED lights could slash your electricity bill by up to 90%!Factor in zero maintenance costs through LED’s lifespan of over 30,000 hours, and the savings increase further! In normal usage conditions this translates to over 8 years of operation without replacement of parts. Being solid state lighting devices, there are no filaments or gas filled tubes in LED lights.
Example:
Lets take an example of replacing ten of your regular 35W halogen downlighters with ten of our equivalent strength 3.7W LED downlighters. Our lights will cost you £22 each fitted. A halogen light will cost you £2.00 to your door. Each light lasts for 50,000 hours. An average halogen will last for 2000 to 5000 hours before it fails and has to be replaced. Lets be generous and call it 5,000 hours. So, over the 50,000 hours you will need 100 (10 x 10) halogens (costing £200 in total) or alternatively 10 of ours (costing £350).The price is one thing, the running cost is another. To run each halogen requires 35Watts and to run each LED takes only 3.7Watts. Today’s average business electricity price is around 10p / kWh. So over 50,000 hours the cost of running the halogens will be around £1,750 and the cost of running the LEDs will be £185. That is a saving of roughly 90%.In total you will spend £1,950 (£200 + £1,750) buying and running your halogens. If you replace them with our lights you will spend only £385 (£200 + £185) in all saving over 85% in the process. With 10 fittings over 50,000 hours, you will save almost £1,550 at todays prices by replacing each 35W halogen downlighter with a ecolite LED …. and they’re greener (less electricity means less carbon) and safer (they dont burn to the touch).EnvironmentReduces carbon emissions by supplying lights which use at least 90% less energy than halogens and 70% less than CFL technologyCarbon EmissionsReduces carbon emissions by supplying lights which use at least 90% less energy than halogens and 70% less than CFL technology
DID YOU KNOW?
- LED lighting offers excellent light quality for both indoor and outdoor uses. It takes 50 incandescent light bulbs or 8 CFL’s to equal the lifespan of 1 LED bulb
- LED light emits 90% less heat than a conventional bulb therefore producing more light than heat and gaining maximum energy efficiency
- An LED light is the bi-product of electricity jumping between two different alloys. This produces a small amount of light and depending upon the alloys, the colour is dictated
- LED light is truly a solid state light as there are no gases, no filaments, and no moving parts to fatigue. Fluorescent lights are filled with a gas containing low-pressure mercury vapour and argon, or sometimes even krypton
- Red LED technology was used in NASA space shuttle plant growth experiments
- LEDs can be made completely waterproof for many marine applications
- It has been proven that employees become more productive and perform well in an environment with proper lighting
- By using energy efficient lighting you can save up to 75% on your monthly electric bill
